Everyday Methods To Increase Gas Mileage

Scientists everywhere have upped their concern about global warming. It is now said that the most harmful effects of climate change can come as early as 2025, and that the effect of the environment can be devastating.

In order to decrease pollution and stall or reverse the effects of global warming, car owners everywhere have searched for ways to improve and increase the gas mileage of their automobiles in order to cut down on the amount of fuel and pollution they use.

Ways to Improve Gas Mileage

One of the best ways for improving gas mileage is to stop using the air conditioner. There is rarely a need for the air conditioner to be on, as an open window will usually cool down your car on a hot day. Turning the air conditioner on can cause you to lose anywhere from 1 to 3 mpg regardless of whether you are on the highway or side streets.

Another great way of improving your fuel economy is to keep all excess belongings out of your car. Anything you keep in your trunk that is not directly related to your car should be removed and kept in storage somewhere. The excess weight causes excess strain on your engine, which can lower gas mileage considerably.

Also, keeping your tires inflated is vitally important if you are trying to increase gas mileage.  Almost a quarter of your gas mileage is lost when you have an improperly inflated tire – this little difference can cost you hundreds of extra dollars a year, and puts a great deal of strain on your engine.

Ways to Increase Gas Mileage

Not every car owner is looking for a way to simply improve their car’s gas mileage. Others are looking for a way to increase it beyond the standard listed by the car’s manufacturers. There are several additives a person can buy, though most of these additives do not work and can damage your engines.

However, a new method of increasing gas mileage up to 100% beyond the manufacturer’s listed ratings has recently been attracting attention. It’s called an HHO modification, and it is an addition to your engine that can be created at home that uses ordinary tap water to significantly increase gas mileage and fuel economy.

And best of all, the end result of these HHO modifications is water, so it greatly reduces emissions and helps heal the environment.

Should these HHO modifications catch on, expect them to be added to all cars released in the next decade. This type of alternative energy lasts longer, is easier to create, costs less and reduces our dependence on oil.

All of these methods, whether you are trying to improve your existing gas mileage or increase it, are important. By reducing the amount of gas you use, you can save yourself thousands of dollars and do your part to help heal the environment. It may not be the perfect solution to the global warming issue, but it’s a start.
